Bernadine Ballweg

Bernadine (Langkamp) Ballweg, age 91, long time resident of Waunakee, passed away on August 20, 2021 at St. Mary’s Hospital after a short illness. She was born on March 3, 1930 in Lancaster, WI, the daughter of William and Alvina (Siepker) Langkamp. She married Bernard F. Ballweg on May 5, 1956 in Tennyson, WI.

She graduated from Platteville High School with an additional two years in secretarial studies in Madison. She worked for the State of Wisconsin for 15 years within the Industrial Commission and the Division of Health as a Stenographer until her retirement due to disability. Bernadine was a very active member of St. John the Baptist Catholic Church in Waunakee. She enjoyed quilting, knitting, crocheting, playing the piano, and playing cards, especially euchre, with family and friends. Her grandchildren always wanted Grandma for their euchre partner.

She is survived by her two daughters, Jeanine (Kim) Radel, Spring Green and Jackie Stoneman, Oxford; four grandchildren, Ross (Tracy) Radel, Shannon (Shawn Heider) Radel, Elizabeth Radel, and Cory Stoneman; two great-grandchildren, James and Isaac Radel; sister, Mary Hill; brother-in-law, Marvin Ballweg; and sisters-in-law, Norma and Marion Ballweg, along with many nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Bernard; her parents; grandson, Josh; son-in-law, Terry Stoneman; siblings, Bernard (Myrtle) Langkamp, Raymond (Bernice) Langkamp, Francis (Theresa) Langkamp, Lawrence (Mary Ann) Langkamp, Dorothy (Duane) Reed, Catherine Koeller, LeRoy and Ambrose Langkamp; and brother-in-law, Dick Hill, along with all eight of Bernard’s siblings and their spouses.

Funeral services will be held on Friday, Aug 27, 2021 at 11:00 a.m. at St John’s Catholic Church, 209 South St. in Waunakee. Msgr. James Gunn will officiate. Friends may call on Thursday, Aug 26, 2021 from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. at the Winn-Cress Funeral Home, 5785 Hwy Q in Waunakee and again on Friday at the church from 10:00 a.m. until the time of services. Burial will take place in the church cemetery.
