Bernard F. (Bernie) Price, Waunakee formerly East Troy/Elkhorn (1928-2013)
Bernie passed away peacefully in his sleep on April 14, 2013, surrounded by his family, after a long battle with cancer. Bernie was born on June 20, 1928 in Cudahy, Wi. He was the only child of Bernard C. and Alice Price. Bernie graduated from East Troy High School in 1946. He also served in the United States Army. On Dec. 26, 1951 he was united in marriage to his lifelong love, Elizabeth Williams. Bernie was an inventor, pump engineer, organizer, supervisor extraordinaire, and personal life experience consultant/advisor to his children and grandchildren. He retired from Bechtel Construction Company as a quality control engineer charged with cooling pump installation on nuclear power plants. He was proud of this job but his greatest accomplishment was raising his family of 8 children. He loved spending time with his family. He and Elizabeth spent the last 18 years wintering in Leesburg Florida.
Bernie is survived by his loving wife of 61 years, Elizabeth and children Larry (Vicki) Elkhorn, Frank of Rochester, Wi., Maribeth of Elkhorn, John (Donna) Waukesha, Marty of Whitewater, Bill (Denise) East Troy, Fred (Kim) Troy Center, and Annette (Dan Kruschek) Waunakee, Wi. He is also survived by 23 grandchildren, 4 great grandchildren, and 1 brother-in-law Al Pitterle. He was preceded in death by his parents, Bernard and Alice.
A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated at St. Peters Catholic Church, in East Troy, at 4:00 PM on April 19, 2013. Interment will be immediately after at St. Peter's cemetery. Visitation will be from 1:00 PM until 4:00 PM at the church, the day of the funeral.
