Berta Bauer

Madison - Berta Bauer, age 90, was taken before her time, on Thursday, March 10, 2016. Berta was born on January 22, 1926 in Germany, to the late Hans and Sofie. She married August Bauer on October 20, 1951 in Watertown. Berta was a member of Our Lady Queen of Peace Catholic Church since 1962. She was a loving wife and mother.

She is survived by her children, John (Wanda) Bauer, Ingrid Bauer and Gerry Bauer; grandchildren, Jennifer Bauer (Gordon Smith), Nicholas Bauer, Catherine (Aaron) Fetterly, and Andrea (Tom) Burkart; great-granddaughter, Michella Bauer; a brother, Josef; a sister, Sofie; and many nieces and nephews. Berta was preceded in death by her husband; parents; and brothers, Helmut, Hans, Fritz and Max.

A Funeral Service will be held at 12:00 Noon on Saturday, March 19, 2016 at CRESS FUNERAL HOME, 3610 Speedway Road, Madison with Fr. Bill Nolan presiding. A visitation will be held from 11:00 a.m. until the time of service. Burial will be at Resurrection Catholic Cemetery, followed by a luncheon at the Cress Community Room.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Queen of Peace School Endowment, or Agrace HospiceCare.
