Bette R Gustafson

Madison-Bette Ruth Gustafson, age 88, died on April 5, 2011 at Oakwood Village West. She was born on Feb. 27, 1923 to Robert & Ruth (Von Berg) Banks in Moline, IL. She graduated from Moline High School, attended Lindenwood College, University of Michigan and was affiliated with Pi Beta Phi Sorority. Bette married the love of her life, Edsel W. Gustafson on Aug. 14, 1946. Bette is survived by her wonderful husband of 64 years, Ed, sons, Thomas (Nancy) Gustafson, James Gustafson, 4 grandsons; Scott, Lucas, Eric & Brett.

Bette was the Chairman of Jr. Red Cross and Treasurer of Lioness Club in Marion, OH, President of Jaycees in Findlay, OH, President and Secretary of Chapter H, P.E.O. Madison, Chairman of Gift shop and served on the Auxiliary Board at Meriter Hospital, Secretary of Madison Memorial H.S. P.T.A. and was active with all of her boys activities such as the Cub Scouts. She volunteered at Oakwood Tea Room and was the President of IXII Farm Golf League. Bette especially enjoyed traveling the world with her husband.
