Stoughton- Betty B. Bondehagen, age 89 of Stoughton, passed away on Tuesday, June 7, 2011 at Stoughton Hospital. She was born on June 2, 1922 in Drummond, WI, a daughter of Norwegian immigrants Martin and Agnes (Peterson) Berg. While working in Milwaukee, she met Karl Bondehagen. They married in 1944 and lived for several years in Beaver Dam. In 1972, they moved to Hayward, living there until Karl's death on August 3, 1993. She then moved to Stoughton, to be close to her family. Betty was very proud of her Norwegian heritage. She was active in First Lutheran Church, Scouting, and the Humane Society. She is survived by her sister, Nora Ylvisaker; several nieces, nephews and many good friends. She was preceded in death by her husband, 2 sisters; and 3 brothers. Memorial services will be held on Saturday, June 18, 2011 at 11:00 am at the Cress Funeral Home in Stoughton with the Rev. Bill Lehman officiating. Burial will follow at Riverside Cemetery in Stoughton. The family will greet friends at the funeral home on Saturday the 18th from 10:00 am until 11:00. Special thanks to Betty's special friend Chris, to neighbors Dick and Sandy, and to the staff at Stoughton Hospital. Memorials may be made to Stoughton Hospital, First Lutheran Church, or to the Humane Society.
