STOUGHTON - Betty Jean Anderson (Paine), age 87, passed away peacefully on Sunday, May 19, 2013, at the Nazareth House in Stoughton, WI. Betty was born August 25, 1925, to Clara (Lokken) and Howard Paine in Isle, MN.
She graduated Stoughton High School in 1943 and was affectionately called "red" for her noted wavy red hair. She married Oscar Anderson on June 16, 1944, sharing almost 69 years of marriage. She worked in Seattle for Boeing Airplane Company, at Navy Pier (Port of Seattle), and as Betty would say "the chief cook, waitress and bottle washer" at Halversons Restaurant on Lake Kegonsa. Betty enjoyed camping trips, fishing musky, bluegill and perch, preparing holiday meals, gardening, watching cardinals and hummingbirds and caring for her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Time was enjoyed in Mission TX at Rollin Home Park, traveling the Northwoods of WI but most especially time at Birch Lake in Winchester, WI. On a good day on the lake fishing she would say "the fish were biting sam-sixty." She especially liked spaghetti and having a good ol' fashioned Friday fish fry with coleslaw and fries and a love for anything chocolate. Her love, smile, hugs and wonderful meals will be greatly missed. She has left us all with many happy memories and will hold a very special place in our hearts always and forever.
Betty is survived by her husband, Oscar; daughters Penny (Bob) Ping and Terry (Larry) Fountain; sister Adele Pouchert; grandchildren Tracey (Rick) Brietzman, Troy (Karen Ney) Ping, Scott (Stacy) Fountain and Heidi (Karl) Brickson; great-grandchildren Jackie, Jason, Ryan, Coy, Kole, Jake, Callie, Caitlin, Josh, Ryan and Jessie; as well as many caring nieces and nephews.
She is preceded in death by her mother Clara, father Howard and brother Ardell "Harold" Paine.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 AM on Saturday, May 25, 2013 at Cress Funeral Home 206 West Prospect Stoughton.
