MADISON- Bonnie R. Johnson, age 77, passed away Wednesday, September 30, 2009, at HospiceCare in Fitchburg. Bonnie was born February 17, 1932, in Madison, to parents Richard and Violet (Larsen) Rynders. She attended Randall Elementary School and West High School before graduating in 1954 from the University of Wisconsin with a B.S. in Medical Technology. While in college she met Gordon Johnson, whom she married in Madison on September 17, 1954.
Bonnie was a gifted artist. She was a member of the Five Painters group of Madison and won many awards for her work. She also enjoyed traveling, jazz, aerobics at the ""Y"" and spending time with her children and grandchildren.
She is survived by her four daughters: Zoe Ciarletta of Fort Worth, TX, Kristin (Timothy) Homan of Grove City, PA, Leslie (Robert) Middleton of Pittsburgh, PA and Britt (Timothy) Heil of Rochester, MN; nine grandchildren; and sisters, Nancy (Al) Whitney of Madison and Clarise (Jack) Dobey of Park Ridge, IL.
She was preceded in death by her husband Gordon in 1991, and her sister, Suzie Reynolds.
A visitation will be held from 4:00 to 6:00 PM on Friday, October 2, 2009, at CRESS FUNERAL HOME, 6021 University Avenue, Middleton. A funeral service will be held at 11:00 AM on Saturday, October 3, 2009, at BETHEL LUTHERAN CHURCH, 312 Wisconsin Ave., Madison. Private burial will be at Forest Hill Cemetery.
