Betty L. Lehnherr

Evansville/Stoughton- Betty L. Lehnherr, age 79, passed away Thursday, April 2, 2009 at her residence in Evansville.   She was born in Evansville on February 3, 1930, a daughter of the late Oscar and Eva (Bly) Lehnherr.   Betty graduated from Evansville High School in 1948 and furthered her education at the UW-Madison with a bachelor's degree in Education.   She taught for 2 year in the Appleton school system moving to Madison in 1954 where Betty taught at Madison East High School and Lafollette High School for over 40 years.   She was honored by her fellow teachers and friends at her retirement party in 1994.   Betty was a member of the Area of Retired Teachers Association.   She was long active in helping to organize high school reunions and had enduring friendships with her class and friends.   Betty is survived by several cousins.   She was preceded in death by her parents.   Funeral services will be held at 1:30 PM on Monday, April 6, 2009 at Olson-Holzhuter-Cress Funeral Home in Stoughton with Rev. Richard Halom officiating.   Burial will follow at Maple Hill Cemetery in Evansville.   Friends and family are invited to a luncheon to be served following the burial at St. John's Lutheran Church, 312 S. 3rd Street, Evansville.   Friends may call from 12:30 PM until the time of service on Monday at the funeral home.
