Betty J. Ney

SUN PRAIRIE-- Betty Jean Ney, age 93, of Sun Prairie, passed away of natural causes at home on Tuesday, October 1, 2024. She was born on May 7, 1931 in Dubuque, IA to Francis and Dorothy (Fern) Ousley. She married Jack Ney on November 24, 1951.

Betty graduated from Dubuque High School. When she moved to Sun Prairie, she worked at both the WI Cheeseman factory, and she retired from American Family in 1996 as a supervisor in the Claims Dept. 

Upon retirement, Betty was able to travel with family and friends. She also enjoyed embroidering dish towels for those she loved. Betty never turned down a chance to play bingo, Scrabble, or a hand of cards at the Regency. 

Betty is survived by her daughters Vicky (Merlin) and Paula; son Eric; grandchildren Amanda (Lucas), Adam, Kala, Ryan (fiancée Emma), Makenzie, Jackie, Erika, Jessika, and Logan; great-grandchildren Zoey and Avery; and sister-in-law Phyllis Ousley. She is further survived by Karen Ney, and many nieces, nephews, and numerous friends. 

Betty was preceded in death by her daughter Rhonda, son Todd, granddaughter Kristina, son-in-law Larry, parents, siblings, and former husband Jack. 

Visitation will be from 10-12:00 PM on Monday, October 14, 2024 at Cress Funeral Service SUN PRAIRIE with a memorial service to begin at 12:00 PM (noon). Immediately following services, Betty will be brought to her final place of rest at Bristol Lutheran Church in Sun Prairie. Please share your memories at www.cressfuneralservice.com.
