Betty (Pedersen) Garland

Betty Pauline (Pedersen) Garland, age 90, passed away on Tuesday, August 17th at Home Again, Waunakee, WI surrounded by her family. Bette's most precious possession was her husband, her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren. She was a wonderful mother, grandmother, sister, sister-in-law, aunt, and mother-in-law. She raised a family filled with love, respect, and joy. She will be missed by all who met her but we can rest assured that she has been welcomed by all her loved ones who passed before her. She enjoyed her cabin up north, camping, going out with her friends, and raising her kids.

She is survived by her three children, Debbie (Mike) Polster, Keith (Deanna) Graland, and Alyson Schaefer; eight grandchildren, Justin (Stephanie) Polster, Christopher, Taryn (Lucas) Cates, Kayla, Payton, Benjamin, Steven, and Samantha; great-grandchildren, Nate, Maddie, Graham, and Rylan; sister-in-law, Peg Meissner; many loving nieces, nephews, and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents; sister, Elsie; brother, Pete; husband, Dick Garland; and daughter, Leslie Garland Miller.

A visitation will be held on Friday, August 27th from 5-7 p.m. at Cress Funeral Home, 3610 Speedway Road, Madison. Funeral services will be held Saturday, August 28th at 11 a.m. at Good Shepherd Lutheran Church, 5701 Raymond Road, Madison, with a visitation one hour prior to the service. There will be an outdoor tailgate celebration of life following the service at Debbie and Mike's home.

We would like to express our appreciation for the loving care she received at Home Again Memory Center in Waunakee, WI. We were blessed to have her remaining months of her life with such a loving, caring group of people.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Home Again in Waunakee, WI as well as memorials may be made in Bettes memory to Alzheimer's Association and Agrace Hospice Care. Thank you to Good Shepherd Lutheran Church and Cress Funeral Home for the attentive and compassionate arrangements.
