Beverly Jean Lane

Beverly Jean (Hansen) Lane, aged 88, passed away peacefully at her home in McFarland, WI on Thursday, January 23rd 2025, due to ovarian cancer. She was born 1936 in Waupaca, WI to the late Elmer and Ellen Hansen. As a child, she attended a one room schoolhouse in the country until she moved to the town of Waupaca. There, she attended Waupaca High School, where she met her future husband, Leonard L Lane. Bev and Len married in 1954, and remained happily married for 67 years until Len’s passing on April 9, 2021. Bev was a loving homemaker and was occupied with raising 4 children for most of her life. However, she also waitressed at the former Badger Restaurant, and also worked for the State of Wisconsin. Bev’s faith was dear to her. She was a member of the McFarland Lutheran Church for 62 years, having served on Women’s Circle’s, various volunteer duties, and singing in the choir. For many years Bev enjoyed sewing, knitting, and also made wreaths for herself and friends. We will remember Bev for her beautiful soul, caring heart, and spunky attitude. Bev is survived by her four children; Connie (David Johnston), Sharon (Tom Weickgenant), Kathy, and Steve (Wendy Helgeland); her grandchildren, and great-grandchildren. Bev was preceded in death by her siblings; Vern Hansen, Eva Peterson, Louis Hansen, and Lucille Peterson. As per Beverly’s request, no funeral or memorial service will be held. Our family is grateful for the compassionate care received from Agrace Hospice nurses and staff.
