Beverly Ann MacKenzie, Age 85, of Madison, WI passed away peacefully at her Oakwood Village-Prairie Place home on October 16, 2022. She was born November 21, 1936, in the Town of Seymour, WI, the daughter of Harmon and Unita Meles. On May 22, 1970, she married George F. MacKenzie, in Shawano, WI.
Beverly graduated from Shawano High School in 1954. In 1957, she graduated from the Methodist Hospital School of Nursing in Madison, WI and became licensed as a Registered Nurse. She furthered her education by completing a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Health Information Administration at the College of St. Scholastica in 1985. She worked as a nurse for several years, including positions as a nurse consultant with the State of Wisconsin, a private nurse consultant, and the American Red Cross before her retirement. She also loved to read and write. She wrote an educational book specific to Nursing Home Progress Notes in 1978. When she was not reading or writing, you could find her working on jigsaw and crossword puzzles. She had a dry sense of humor and infectious laugh. She also had a generous heart with friends and family alike.
Survivors include three step-children: George W. “Skitch” (Donna) MacKenzie of Madison, Georgia K. (David) MacKenzie-Edge of Sun Prairie, William L. (Jan) MacKenzie of Oshkosh. Grandchildren: George E. “Chip” MacKenzie, Chad (Deb) MacKenzie, Dana MacKenzie, William MacKenzie, Danielle MacKenzie, David (Heather) Edge, Jason (Laura) Edge, Max Anderson, and Savanna Anderson. Great grandchildren: Hannah (Alex), Jensen, Ellie, Fisher, Kaden, Zander, Aidan, Ethan, and Silas. Great-great grandchildren: Oliver and Adelaide. She was preceded in death by her parents and her husband.
