Madison/Sun Prairie - Bonnie DeEtt Morrissey, age 86, died on February 10, 2012 at Kindred Hearts Assisted Living Center.
Bonnie was born on March 12, 1925, in Caledonia, North Dakota, the daughter of Clarence and Ruby Stigen. Bonnie graduated from Plummer High School in Minnesota and later married John Morrissey on September 11, 1946.
Bonnie worked for Badger Ordinance in Baraboo in 1942 and lived most of her adult life in Madison. She was an active member of Trinity Lutheran in Madison, prior to moving to Sun Prairie in 2000 and becoming a member of Our Savior's Lutheran Church.
Bonnie enjoyed embroidery, reading, traveling, playing bingo, seeing her friends at Colonial Club and the Red Hat Society meeting and also enjoyed music at the Fireside Theater. But most of all, Bonnie enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren.
Bonnie is survived by her three children, Lawrence (Loyce) of Madison, Kevin of Gays Mills and Jay (Roxanne) of Sun Prairie; three grandchildren, John (Wendy), Molly and Jay Jr.; two great grandchildren, Mari and Liam and a sister-in-law, Dorothy Stigen of California.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, John on April 15, 1971 and her brother, Duane.
In lieu of flowers, memorials can be directed to the Colonial Club or St. Jude's Hospice.
Memorial services will be held at the Cress Funeral Home, 1310 Emerald Terrace, Sun Prairie WI on Friday, February 17, 2012 at 1:00 PM. A visitation will also take place at the funeral home on Friday from 11:00 AM until the time of service.
