Brian fought a courageous battle with ALS/Lou Gehrig’s Disease for eight years. Brian put GOD first, and he did the work of GOD. He did missions, was a Christian youth leader, and he was a mentor to disadvantaged children. Brian had a great sense of humor and was a friend to everyone.
Brian's hobbies include but not limited to: Fishing for bass, northern pike, gar, muskies, and pan fish. He loved to shoot his guns, deer hunt, turkey hunt, and pheasant hunt. He also enjoyed scuba diving, hockey, downhill skiing, motorcycles, and water skiing.
Brian made his sister a tom boy! Your parents couldn't have had a better son/man!
Brian is preceded in death by his grandparents Mayer and Eloise Leikness and Cyril and Dorothy Heiser; his aunt Sandi Norland, uncle Phil Norland and cousin Kim Norland.
He is survived by his dad Dave Leikness, mom Anna Leikness, sister Julie Long, brother-in-law Al Long, and many other cousins, aunts, uncles, and friends.
We want to extend our gratitude to University of Wisconsin hospital ALS Clinic, ALS Association, Full Spectrum care givers and Agrace HospiceCare.
Brian's favorite Bible verse: 2 Corinthians 5:17 "If anyone is in Christ they are a new creation, the old has gone, the new has come" Brian is walking and talking in heaven now!
