Bruce Allen Sutherland

Sun Prairie-Bruce Allen Sutherland, age 60, passed away unexpectedly on January 31, 2010 in Searcy, Ark while visiting his uncle. He was born on November 13, 1949 in Madison the son of Elmer & Alice (Thompson) Sutherland. Bruce was a graduate of Madison East High School, Class of 1968. He was a proud veteran who served with the U.S. Army in the Viet Nam War. Bruce was united in marriage to Barbara Cahill on September 12, 1987 in Janesville. He is survived by his wife, Barbara, Sun Prairie; his mother Alice of Sun Prairie; a sister, Bonnie Sutherland, Sun Prairie; uncles and aunts, Bill & Leona Crowly, Searcy, ARK, Leroy & Betty Thompson, Waunakee and Ellen Appledorn, Waunakee; Brothers-In-Law, Brian (Chris) Cahill, Bruce Cahill , both of Janesville and Ray (Jeanie) Thompson, Godfrey, Ill.; his best friends since 1^st grade, Jerry (Rose) Thomas; other relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by his father. An American Veterans Memorial Service will be held on Saturday, February 13, 2010 at 11:00 a.m. at the Cress Funeral Home, Sun Prairie with Chaplain Murray House. A time of gathering will be held on Saturday at the funeral home from 10:00 a.m. until the time of service. In lieu of flowers memorials may be directed to the Wm. S. Middleton Veterans Volunteer Services, with funds going to assist Viet Nam Vets.
