Sun Prairie - Willis D. "Bud" Kruckenberg, age 100, passed away peacefully on Sunday, July 9, 2017 at St. Mary's Hospital. He was born on May 23, 1917, in Jefferson County, Wisconsin to Willis Sr. and Millie (Procknow) Kruckenberg. Willis graduated from Fort Atkinson High School in 1935. He then met and married Odessa Ramey of Colby, Kansas in 1938. Together they farmed for over 30 years in the Busseyville area. Along with farming, Willis also worked at Moe Brothers in Fort Atkinson and Fairbanks Morse in Beloit, where he worked as a tool and die maker. He was dedicated N.F.O. member while farming. To this marriage four children were born, Dena Kay, Willis III, Morry and Carmen. Willis married Ethyl M. Durrant of Stoughton, Wisconsin in November of 1983. They resided in Stoughton where Willis worked for Golna Closure Products until his retirement in 1994.
He is survived by his wife Ethyl; son Morry (Cathy) Kruckenberg of Whitehall, Wisconsin, daughter Carmen (Joe) Golde of Madison.; eight grandchildren; four great grandchildren; a special niece Lana (Al) Jelek of Jefferson. Further survived by two stepdaughters, Judy (Roger) Ingraham of Stoughton, Barbara (Gary) Thompson of Sun Prairie; along with three step grandsons and six step greatgrandchildren; and many friends and other relatives and his many friends at Angell Park Senior Apartments. He was preceded in death by both parents; two brothers, Kenneth and Perry; a daughter Dena Kay and son Willis III.; sister Bonnie Hinton; grandson Alex Golde; and first wife Odessa.
Funeral services will be held at Cress Funeral Home, 1310 Emerald Terrace, Sun Prairie on Saturday, July 15, 2017 at 10:30 am with the Reverend Cathy Christman officiating. Visitation will be held from 9:00 am until the time of service.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Stoughton United Methodist Church or a donor of your choice.
