Burt Avedon

Verona: Burt S. Avedon, age 94, passed away Tuesday, May 1, 2018 at Agrace HospiceCare. He was born April 15, 1924 the son of Samuel and Ethel (Sholtz) Avedon in Long Island, NY. Burt attended UCLA as an undergrad where he was Quarterback for the Bruins, and played in the 41' Rose Bowl. He was a Retired Top Gun Navy Commander, and author of the novel, "Dead Eye Trilogy." Burt was employed as CEO of several companies, and co-founder of Avedon & Colby International Outfitters where he worked until his last days. He also was an active member and contributor to The Explorer's Club.

Burt is survived by his third wife; Silvana, daughters; Tracy Avedon-Weiner, Dana "Michelle" Drossart, Renée Avedon Shekarchian, son; Loren Avedon, six grandchildren, and one great granddaughter.

A gathering of family and friends will be held from 2pm until 4pm, Monday May 7, 2018 at the CRESS CENTER, 6021 University Ave., Madison, WI 53705. Burial will take place at Arlington National Cemetery. Please share a memory.
