Madison -- Burton C. Dyreson, age 93, passed away on Saturday, April 18, 2009, at HospiceCare in Fitchburg. He was born on April 18, 1916 in Stoughton, WI, the son of Carl and Effie (Johnson) Dyreson. Burton graduated from Janesville High School and went onto Madison Business College receiving a degree in accounting. He served in the Army during WWII for 5 years. Burton was united in marriage to Dorothy Deininger on February 21, 1943 in Monroe, WI. He worked for the Commonwealth Telephone Company, Dizon Paper Company and Universal Paper Company as an accountant. Burton was an active member of Bethel Lutheran Church. He was an usher for 45 years, served on church council; Christian Men's Fellowship, Couples Club, Congregational Life and was involved in the Boy Scouts. After retiring in 1981 he volunteered as a tax aide for AARP, Bethel Estate Sales and Oakwood Resale Shop. Â Burton is survived by his loving wife of 66 years, Dorothy Dyreson of Madison; his sons, John (Patricia) Dyreson of Fitchburg and Steven (Patty) Dyreson of New London; grandchildren, Jeffrey (Deirdre), Kenneth (Sarah), Scott (Sonja), Kevin (Krista) and Laura (Darrell) Pinter; great grandchildren, Carter, Andrew, Emma and Chloe; sisters, Helen Brekken of McFarland and Ruth (Harvey) Gausman of Edgerton; a brother, Carl (Lorraine) Dyreson of McFarland; nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. Â Burton was preceded in death by his parents, his sisters, Vivian and Elinor and a brother, Paul. Funeral services will be held at BETHEL LUTHERAN CHURCH, 312 Wisconsin Avenue, Madison, on Saturday, April 25, 2009, at 11:30 a.m. with Pastor William White officiating. Visitation will be held at the church on Saturday, April 25, 2009, from 10:30 a.m. until time of service.
