Carl Baldwin

Carlysle "Carl" Baldwin, age 86, died unexpectedly on June 7, 2017. He was born on Dec. 6, 1930, to Carlysle "Curly" and Mayme Baldwin in Clark County.

Carl's lifelong passion with education led him to UW-Madison, Cardinal Stritch, and Bradley universities; he graduated with a degree in engineering. He married Judy Kalscheur and they had four beautiful children. Carl's passion for hunting took him on many adventures throughout the world. He often said there was nothing more exciting than hearing bull elk bugle in the night when camping at 11,000 feet in the Rockies. He spent time in the U.S. Navy during the Korean War. He was a hunter safety instructor and a life-long member of the N.R.A. and many sportsmen clubs in Oconomowoc, North Bristol, and Portage. He loved to share with everyone he met his philosophy on life, have a Positive Mental Attitude, which he called his PMA club. He really enjoyed dancing, music and having fun.

Carl is survived by his children, Kay (Mark) Kienetz, Kevin (Shannon) Baldwin, and Little Todd Baldwin; his grandchildren Franna (Jon) Larsen, Paul (Brianna) Kienetz, Dennis Kienetz, Ryan Baldwin and Erin Baldwin; his great-grandchildren Sophie, Jeremiah, Joshua and Noah Larsen; his brother Dr. Frank Baldwin; and he also leaves behind other extended family. He was preceded in death by his daughter Karen; wife Judy; sister Dora; and great-grandson, Isaac.

A memorial service will be held at Sun Prairie United Methodist Church, 702 North Street, Sun Prairie, on Tuesday June 13, 2017, at 1:00 pm with the Rev. Jenny Arneson officiating. A visitation will be held from 11:00 am until the time of service at the church.
