Madison - Carl Blotz Rowe died after a long, courageous battle with longevity July 21, 2012. Born on October 21st, 1919 in Vulcan, Alberta, Canada, he spent his early childhood in Idaho until the family established in Dodgeville, Wisconsin. He graduated from the University of Wisconsin, Madison in 1942 with a degree in Mechanical Engineering. Thereafter he spent time working on airplane engines for Pratt & Whitney. In 1946 he married Carolyn Sever; they moved to Madison and he began working for Research Products where he was the proud patent-holder for the Aprilaire Humidifier. During his life he was fortunate to have wonderful friends and hobbies.
Carl is survived by daughters, Sally (Bill Bauer) Rowe and Katharine (Craig) Richter; grandchildren, Hans and Kearstin Richter; great-grandson, Maxwell Howard; sister, Elizabeth LaMountain and sister-in-law, Patsy Rowe.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Carolyn; son John; great-granddaughter Charlotte; parents, James and Cora Rowe; sister, Gwen; brothers, Richard, Benjamin and George.
The family wishes to thank Edward Anderson, Rick & Janet Gordon, Franklin & Marcia Wilson, Dr. Everton, Jan & Jackie, John Klow, the staffs at Oakwood Village University Woods, Hebron Oaks Nursing Facility and AGrace HospiceCare.
A Memorial Service will be held at RESURRECTION CHAPEL, OAKWOOD VILLAGE UNIVERSITY WOODS, 6205 Mineral Point Road on Monday, July 23, 2012 at 3.00 p. m. with Chaplain Gwen Brandfass presiding.
