Marshall - Carmen Joan (Meixner) Kindschi was born to Marle and Marie (Perry) Meixner in rural DeForest on March 24, 1932. She married Richard Allen Kindschi, son of Ralph and Celia (Mather) Kindschi, on November 28, 1953.
She and Richard enjoyed raising sheep, gardening, sewing, Bible studies and doing musical programs on the marimba and organ in many area churches and nursing homes. She loved sewing with and for her children and granddaughters and cherished the time spent with them. She attended North Windsor United Methodist Church where she was the pianist for several years and the Arlington United Methodist Church where she sang in the choir. She worked at WI Power and Light Company, A. J. Roob, Inc., and the WI Cheeseman (23 years).
She is survived by her son, Greg (Cindy) Kindschi of Bozeman, MT; two daughters, Pam (Tony) Amundson of Eau Claire and their daughter, Haley Amundson; Becky (Brent) Foss of DeForest and their daughters, Ashley Brumley Walker Ray (Peter) stationed at Fort Riley, KS, Natalie and Camille Foss of DeForest and Cassandra Kindschi. She is further survived by one brother, Bruce (Julie) Meixner of Sun Prairie, sisters-in-law, Wilma Meixner of DeForest, Doris Steuber of Prairie du Sac, Madeline Kindschi of DeForest and Kay (Bill) Mountford of Poynette.
Carmen was preceded in death by her husband, Richard; her parents and in-laws; a sister, Delores and her husband, Al Stucki; her sister, Diane and her husband, Ken Roessler; a brother, John Meixner, and her grandson, Joshua Brumley. She was also preceded in death by her brothers-in-law, Ralph Steuber, Bob Kindschi and Lawrence Meier and a sister-in-law, Alberta Meier.
In lieu of flowers or memorial donations, due to the outpouring of support from Richard's recent passing, the family asks that you send any memorial donation to the charity or organization of your choice.
Memorial services will be held on Saturday, September 3, 2011 at Arlington United Methodist Church, 103 Reagles Street, Arlington WI at 2:00 PM. A visitation will also be held at the church from 1:00 PM until the time of service. A public reception will be held afterwards at the church.
