Carol Briggs

Madison - Carol Jean Briggs, age 98, passed away on Wednesday, May 18th, at her home in Madison. Carol was born on February 17th, 1924, in Marble Rock Iowa, to Roy and Alma (Bettin) Randall. After moving to Madison in 1946, she met and married her husband, Carl Briggs. They were married for 46 years, until his death in 1992.  Carol worked in retail including Rennebohm’s and Carmen’s until she and her husband took over ownership of Mosley’s Bookstore in 1971.  She retired from Mosley's in 2000 but continued to work in retail well into her 80’s. Carol was a kind and wonderful woman who loved her family and spending time with them.

She is survived by her daughter, Pamela Briggs; son, Steven Briggs, seven grandchildren, and nine great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents, her brothers, Claire, Earl, and Wallace, and her husband Carl.

A private service will be held.
