Carol Kathleen Ziegler, age 84, of Middleton/Ashton, passed away peacefully on Sunday, July 30, 2023 at Agrace Hospice in Fitchburg. She was born on August 1, 1938 to Louis and Frances (Maly) Kippley. She graduated from Waunakee High School and later married her husband, Leo Ziegler, at Saint Peter’s Catholic Church on November 10, 1959.
Together they took on the Ziegler Homestead where she worked by her husband’s side. She was instrumental in growing the success of Ziegler Dairy Farms and raising their beautiful family. Carol and Leo were blessed with three children, sons Stephen Ziegler and Greg (Cheryl) Ziegler, and daughter Patty (Rob) Karn. Over the years they also enjoyed many trips around the world and across the country. Anyone that knew Carol knows that she loved a Brandy Old Fashioned Sweet and a good card game of Solo or Euchre with friends.
Her legacy is carried on by her husband Leo, children Greg (Cheryl) and Patty (Rob); grandchildren, Andrew (Megan), Steve (Ashley), Matt (Sara), Dan (Dallas), Jon (Alyssa), Michelle (Robert), and Amber (significant other Thomas ); great-grandchildren, Brysen, Amelia, LeRoy, Weston, Stella, Ava, and baby Wyss coming soon. Carol was proceeded in death by her parents; infant son, Stephan Frank; brothers, Robert and Roger Kippley.
Friends and family are welcome to attend a visitation on Thursday, August 3, 2023 from 5-7:00 p.m. at Winn Cress Funeral Home 5785 Co Rd Q, Waunakee. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Friday, August 4, 2023 at 11 a.m. at St. Peter’s Catholic Church 7121 Co Hwy K, Middleton. A visitation will also be held at the Church from 9:30 a.m. until the time of mass on Friday. Burial will be at St. Peter’s Catholic Cemetery. Following the burial there will be a luncheon held at Dorf Haus Supper Club, 8931 Highway Y, Sauk City. All are welcome to attend.
Our family would like to thank Dr. Kelly Herold and her outstanding Nurse Renee along with the amazing staff at Agrace Hospice in Fitchburg and Janesville, who went above and beyond with compassionate care for mom during her short stay.
Mom/Grandma/Great Grandma - we were not ready for you to leave us but we know you are already dancing up there watching over us. We love you so much………until we meet again.
The family will establish a memorial at a later date.
