Madison - Carol Ann Riley, age 65, passed away on Thursday, November 2, 2017, at her home in Madison. She was born on July 27, 1952, in Madison, Wisconsin, the daughter of Ivan and Dorothea (Schultz) Riley.
Carol attended Winnequah School and later worked at the Madison Opportunity Center and MARC-East. She was employed for many years at Applebee's and the Prairie Athletic Club.
Special people in her life were Sherry and Dick Birkholz of Sun Prairie who were her caregivers for many years and always a very important part of her life as well as their children Teresa and Tony.
She was an avid Green Bay Packer and Milwaukee Brewer's fan. Carol enjoyed being with family and friends and her happiest moments were interacting with them particularly on her favorite days of the year, Christmas and her birthday. She was fond of animals, especially her dogs over the years; Kelly, Rex, Cocoa, Ginger, and Rudy.
Carol is survived by her siblings, Sandra Parr of Madison, Darrell (Betty) of Waterloo, Dennis (Mary) of Marshall, Kathleen (Michael) Lazers of Del Rio, Texas; ten nephews and nieces, Joseph Parr, Lisa Parr, Thomas (Susan) Parr, Tamara (Jeff) Krueger, Brad (Krista) Riley, Kate (Chris) Bennett, Beth (Matthew) Pantzlaff, Jane (Ty Buchanan) Riley, Stephanie (Josh) Horn and Robert (Daniel Kwak) Lazers; 17 grand nephews and nieces, Gavin, Caden and Mckenna Parr; Benjamin, Nicholas and Ashley Krueger, Amelia and Andrew Riley; Abigail, Olivia and Caleb Bennett, Parker, Piper and Cooper Pantzlaff, Tyler and Nathan Horn and Noah Lazers and cousins.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Ivan and Dorothea Riley, her brother-in-law, Donald Parr and a niece.
A funeral service will be held at CRESS FUNERAL HOME, 1310 Emerald Terrace, Sun Prairie, on Friday, November 10, 2017, at 11:00 a.m. with Pastor Brad Mather officiating. A visitation will be held at the funeral home on Friday from 10:00 a.m. until the time of the service. Burial will take place at Medina Cemetery in Marshall.
In lieu of flowers, memorials can be made to MARC-East, Agrace HospiceCare or the Dane County Humane Society.
