Carol Stewart

Carol L. Stewart of Madison died on Wednesday, November 29, 2017. She was born in La Crosse on July 30, 1933 the daughter of the late Jasper and Elsie Staples. She attended the La Crosse Public Schools, graduating from Central High School in 1951. She received her degree in elementary education from the UW-La Crosse in 1955 and her career included teaching in the primary grades in Neenah, Wisconsin and Creve Coeur, Missouri. She taught pre-school for Church Day Nurseries in Madison, served as retail office clerk for Manchester's Department Store, Library Aide, Orchard Ridge Middle School and as secretary-receptionist for the Wisconsin Academy of Sciences, Arts and Letters. Carol was united in marriage to Terrill P. Stewart on April 13, 1957 in La Crosse. Carol is survived by her husband; a son, Eric Stewart of Wisconsin Dells; a daughter, Lynn (John) Berry of Pensacola, Florida; two grandchildren, Emma (Joseph Waltz, fiancé) and Clarke Berry; and great-grandson, Harper. A Memorial Service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Thursday, December 7, 2017 at COVENANT PRESBYTERIAN CHURCH, 326 S. Segoe Road, Madison, 53705.
