Carol Stokes

Stoughton- Carol A. Stokes, age 78, passed away on Sunday, November 15, 2015 at Agrace HospiceCare Inc. in Fitchburg. She was born on August 19, 1937, the daughter of Arthur and Selma Stankey. On August 1, 1959, Carol married Thomas Stokes in Mankato, MN. Carol worked for many years as an administrative assistant for Dr. Nordholm and Dr. Nelson, and then for Dean Clinic. She enjoyed reading and volunteering in the Stoughton community for the hospital, food pantry, and Christ Lutheran Church. Carol's greatest joy was her family, especially her grandchildren. She will be missed dearly by her family and all that knew her well. Carol is survived by her three sons, Scott (Stephanie), Sean (Heidi), and Stephen (Tina); six grandchildren, Jon, Grace, Elle, Jenna, Emma, and Elizabeth; three brothers, Don (Pat), Dean (Georgia), and Delmar (Linda); sister, Sharon (Ken) Warden. She was preceded in death by her parents; sisters, Grace, Helen, Alice, and Evelyn; brothers, Reuben, Marvin, and Alvin. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 AM on Friday, November 20, 2015 at Christ Lutheran Church in Stoughton, with Rev. Scott Geister-Jones officiating. Friends and relatives are invited to a luncheon, immediately following the services, in the church fellowship hall. Visitation will be held from 5:00 PM until 7:00 PM on Thursday, November 19, 2015 at Cress Funeral Home in Stoughton, and from 10:00 AM until the time of services on Friday at church. In lieu of flowers, the family would deeply appreciate memorials to Christ Lutheran Church, or Agrace HospiceCare Inc. in Fitchburg. Please share your memories of Carol.
