Carol's patient wait for her Lord was answered on Friday, March 11, 2011 when she was called home at the age of 77 years. Carol was born in Appleton, Wisconsin to Elsie and Max Hensel. Carol (nee Hensel)was married to the late David Young of Shiocton, Wisconsin on February 2, 1957. Carol was preceded in death by her parents, her brothers Max and Walter and her sister Gertrude Kitts. She is survived by her brother Win (Donna) Hensel of Brookfield, Wisconsin as well as her three children, Michael (Cheryl) Young of Milwaukee, Wisconsin, Mark Young of Madison, Wisconsin and Maureen (Daniel) Highdale of Bloomington, Minnesota. Carol absolutely adored her four grandchildren, Hilary, Matthew, Hannah and Alex. Carol was a tremendous mother and a loved and revered Aunt to many nephews and nieces, especially Elizabeth Hensel of Appleton, Wisconsin.
Carol was a 1955 graduate of the nursing program at Milwaukee Lutheran Hospital. Carol was a registered nurse for many years in Madison at both University Hospital and Meritor Hospital. Carol was blessed with many enduring friendships from ""nurses training"" especially the ""Magnolias"" Delores, Barb, Carol, Rosie and Gwenn. Carol was a faithful attendee of the annual nurses reunion.
Family, friends and especially her faith nurtured Carol throughout her life. For 44 years Carol was an active and supportive member of Eastside Evangelical Lutheran Church.
Visitation Monday, March 14, 2011, from 11:00 am to noon at Eastside Evangelical Lutheran Church, 2310 Independence Lane, Madison, Wisconsin with service to follow.
