Carole Ritter

Madison - It is with great sorrow that we announce the passing of a loving wife, mother and grandmother, Carolyn Ellen Ritter (Banasik), on Thursday, April 25, 2013.
Carole was born on August 17, 1938 to Joseph and Irene (Ormsby) Banasik of LaCrosse, WI. She married Tom Ritter on November 28, 1959. Carole will be deeply missed by her husband Tom, her four children: Tim (Janie, Zack, Ryan) Ritter of Verona; Terry (Danielle, Alex, Anabel) Ritter of Verona; Mary Beth (Mike, Austin, Abby) Anderson of Evansville; and Maureen (Steve, Maria, Casey, Noah) Grosse of Verona. She was preceded in death by her parents Joseph and Irene, and her brother Gregory Banasik.
Carole graduated from St. Francis Hospital School of Nursing in 1959. While working as a nurse and raising four children, she pursued her education becoming a Certified Registered ObGyn Nurse Practitioner in in 1980, and achieving her Bachelors of Science from the College of St. Francis in 1992.
Carole enjoyed being with her children and grandchildren, playing bridge with her friends, playing the piano, listening to Dixieland jazz and big band music, and traveling with her family and friends to New Orleans, Mexico, Guatemala, Spain and Japan among many other locations. One of her favorite things was to travel and see the world.
She will be remembered for her sense of humor and her cheerfulness. There are not enough words to say how much our mother will be missed. She has not only been a mother to us, but also a true friend. She has touched so many lives and we feel that we are better people because of knowing her.
Our love shall reign forever over all. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at OUR LADY QUEEN OF PEACE CATHOLIC CHURCH, 405 S. Owen Dr., Madison, on Wednesday, May 1, 2013, at 11:00 a.m. with Father John Nellessery presiding. Enurnment will follow at Resurrection Cemetery. A visitation will be held at CRESS FUNERAL HOME, 3610 Speedway Road, Madison, on Tuesday, April 30, 2013 from 4:00 - 7:00 p.m. and at church on Wednesday from 10:00 a.m. until time of the mass.
In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made in her name to Agrace Hospice, Madison.
