Carolyn Rae Griffith of Westport/ Waunakee, age 78, died on May 10, 2024 at UW Hospital in Madison, surrounded by her family.

She was born on Sept. 7, 1945 to Harold and Lilas (Gunlaw) Klaas. She graduated from Fennimore High School in 1963 and moved to Madison where she worked various jobs until she landed at Middleton Farmers Co-op where she worked many years until her retirement. She married Thomas Griffith on May 4^th, 1968 and they had just celebrated 56 years together.

When Carolyn was younger, she was an avid bowler. She loved fishing, playing cards, feeding birds and sunsets at the cabin in Phillips. She enjoyed attending her grandkids sporting and school events and especially enjoyed taking her beloved dog, Doodlebug, on walks.

Carolyn is survived by her husband, Thomas; daughter, Kathy (David) Jasper; sons, Donald and Dale; grandchildren, Megan (Scott), Kilee (Joe), and Carter; step-granddaughter, Brandi; and great-granddaughter, Sydney.

Carolyn was preceded in death by her parents; grandson Kacey; mother-in-law, Dorothy Griffith; father-in-law, John Griffith, and brothers-in-law, Dennis Griffith, Eugene Griffith, Michael Loring and Dick Ketterer. Nieces Tina Paulson and Vicki James and nephew Tim Klaas.

Funeral services will be held on Friday May 17, 2024 at 11:00 a.m. at St Mary of the Lake Catholic Church in Westport. Friends may call at the Winn-Cress Funeral home 5785 Hwy Q Waunakee on Thurs. May 16, 2024 from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. Friends may also call at the funeral home on Friday from 9:30 a.m. until 10:45 a.m. Burial will take place in the church cemetery.
