Cassie Niebur

Sun Prairie- Cassie Niebur, age 92, passed away on Saturday, April 16, 2016, at Agrace Hospice, Fitchburg. She was born on February 21, 1924, in Roxbury, WI, the daughter of John and Theresa (Reider) Kurt. Cassie married George Niebur on September 4, 1948, at St. Patrick's Catholic Church in Madison, WI. Together they raised two daughters and built quite a life for themselves and their family. Cassie loved traveling, shopping, playing Euchre, going to casinos, and spending time with her family.
She is survived by her husband; George of Sun Prairie, her two daughters; Debbie (Tom) Schaller of Madison, Bev (Kurt) Kniess of Sun Prairie, two grandsons whom she adored; Zac of Woodbury, MN, and Kels (Danielle Dounar) of Stoughton. Cassie also had two great grandchildren that she enjoyed watching grow; Rowan and Crew Kniess of Woodbury, MN. Cassie is also survived by a sister; Bernadette Zimmer of Waunakee, as well as nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, two brothers, and six sisters.
Funeral services will be held at 12:00 pm on Sunday, April 24, 2016, at Cress Funeral Home, 1310 Emerald Terrace, Sun Prairie, WI. A visitation will be held from 10:30 am until the time of service. Burial will take place at Highland Memory Garden on Monday, April 25, 2016, at 10:00 am.
