Stoughton- Catherine ""Kitty"" Chase Button, formerly of Lake Geneva, was called to the Lord on Wednesday, May 27, 2009, surrounded by her family, friends and loved ones. She was born on April 29, 1919 in Cleveland, OH to Louis and Gertrude (Bletsh) Podrasky. Kitty's family established themselves in Des Plaines, IL.  In 1929 they relocated to Lyndon Station. Later, Kitty moved to Lake Geneva, where she met the love of her life, Charles Chase. They married on September 12, 1940. Kitty and Charles were blessed with four beautiful children, Karen (Jerry) Olsen of Stoughton, Teri Melson of Lake Geneva, Charles (LaVonne) Chase of Elkhorn and John (Linda) Chase also of Elkhorn, WI. Her husband, Charles Chase preceded Kitty in death on February 9, 1970. Kitty later married Charles H. Button on April 5, 1986. She acquired three step sons from this union, Allan (Joan) Button, Frederick (Dona) Button and John (Diane) Button.  Her husband, Charles Button preceded her in death on January 13, 1995. Kitty worked as a bookkeeper and accountant for Skrudlands from 1967 to 1982. She was also a devoted member of St. Frances De Sales church in Lake Geneva and a dedicated member of the choir. Kitty was known for quick wit and beautiful smile. She enjoyed ""bling"", traveling, crocheting, walking, reading, swimming, waterfalls (and any scenic water), music, and collecting angel figurines and pictures of cardinals. She had a contagious zest for life, her children, grandchildren, and great grand children, Kitty had children's books published she wrote and illustrated. She was adored by all who were blessed to know and love her. Kitty is survived by her sister Rosemary Perry of Milton, a brother Jim (Anita) Pody of Tennessee, a brother John Pody of Lyndon Station, and a sister Dionne (Gerald) Ketchpaw of Lake Geneva. A brother Louie preceeded her in death. Kitty was blessed with 10 grandchildren, Brian Olsen, Margit (Patrick) Frisch, Michelle (Scott) Race, Andrea (AJ) Arnett, Rhiannon (Ryan) Kahmann, Breanne Chase, Jason (Katie) Chase, Ben (Michelle) Chase, Chris Chase, and Sarah (Christopher) O'Neil. She is also survived by many much loved nieces and nephews. Her joy was extended by twelve great-grand children and twelve step great grand children. Kitty was the glue that held the family and extended family together through many letters and correspondence. She immensely enjoyed writing and receiving letters. Memorial services will be held at 12 noon on Monday, June 1, 2009 at St. Ann's Catholic Church, 323 N. Van Buren Street, Stoughton, with Monsignor Gerard Healy officiating. Friends may greet the family from 11:00 AM until the time of service on Monday. Memorials may be made to Janesville Hospice, 3001 W. Memorial Drive, Janesville, WI, 53548. The family would like to extend a heartfelt thank you to the Janesville Hospice group. Your support and compassion were instrumental to ""Miss Kitty's"" comfort and care. We love and respect you all in a very special way. Your kindness will never be forgotten.
