Catherine M. Fauerbach

Lodi/Sauk Prairie - Catherine M Poetsch Fauerbach passed away unexpectedly on Wednesday, December 1, 2010 at Sauk Prairie Memorial Hospital. She was born on May 23, 1926 to Herman and Mabel (Blodgett) Poetsch in Waukesha Wisconsin. Cathy graduated from Waukesha High School in 1944, attended UW Madison earning a Bachelor of Science Degree in 1948 and completed training for clinical laboratory technician on September 15, 1948.   After working several years for the State Laboratory of Hygiene in Madison she stayed home to raise her children, but stayed involved with TriDelta and AAUW for many years. Catherine Poetsch and John Fauerbach married on September 18, 1948 at Grace Episcopal Church in Madison. Mom spent the last couple of years at Maplewood of Sauk Prairie, enjoying the social activities offered, and the almost daily visits from her son Scott. We thank the many staff for the care she received while there. We would also like to thank the staff from Sauk Prairie Hospital for their care of mom, and an extra thank you for Jess who helped us with phone calls and other things at this difficult time it was greatly appreciated. Cathy is survived by two children Scott (Diane) Fauerbach and Julie (Mike) Ross: three grandchildren Ryan Fauerbach, Rachael(Joe)Steinkopf and Michael Fauerbach: three great-grandchildren Devan, Alysa and Kayden Steinkopf and many friends. She was preceded in death by her parents: her husband of 62 years John: two brothers Chet and Howard, and her sister Lucile. Funeral services for Catherine will be held Friday, Dec. 10, 2010 at 11 a.m. at CRESS FUNERAL HOME, 3610 Speedway Road, Madison.   A visitation will be held prior to service beginning at 10 a.m.   Burial will be at Forest Hill Cemetery.
