Catherine Gianquinto

Madison - Catherine Mary Gianquinto age 94 a resident of St. Mary's Care Center passed away on Friday evening May 8, 2015. Catherine was born on February 18, 1921 in Madison to Josephine and Paul Gandolfo. She was a sister to Mrs. Francis Buscemi, Mrs. Rose Vitale, Mrs. Victoria Pellitteri, and Mr. Sam Gandolfo. A long time resident of Madison's Greenbush Community, Catherine attended Madison Central High School, was a homemaker, member of the Italian American Womans Club and frequent volunteer at St. James Catholic Church. Catherine was known for her cooking and gregarious sense of humor. She loved to dress up in costumes and outrageous hats during family and community gatherings. Catherine was preceded in death by her husband Peter Gianquinto Sr. and by her son Peter Gianquinto Jr. She is survived by her daughter Maria C. Foseid, son-in-law, Mark Foseid, grandson Peter A. Foseid, Peter's wife Megan Schmeltzer Foseid, and her two great-grandchildren Bennett Peter and Willa Jane Foseid. A visitation will be held at Good Shepherd Catholic Parish at St. James Church, 1128 St. James Court, Madison on Tuesday May 12, 2015, beginning at 10:00am. A Mass of Christian Burial will begin at 11:00 a.m. and will be followed by a luncheon in the church hall for all attendees. Graveside services will be for family members and relations only.
