Catherine Mulcahy

Dane- Catherine "Cathy" Joan Mulcahy, age 50, of Dane passed away on Wednesday, March 8, 2017 at University of Wisconsin Hospital surrounded by her family.

Cathy was born on August 8, 1966 in Madison, WI, the daughter of Eugene and Jean (Haag) Ripp. She graduated from Lodi High School in 1984 and Edgewood College in 1993. Cathy married Mike on August 7, 1987 in Waunakee, WI. She worked with Menasha Corporation for 23 years and was proud of her role as a senior data analyst for the last eight years along with being the cornerstone of the family business, CJ's Lawn and Snow.

She loved spending weekends outdoors at the cabin with Mike, Joe, Meghan, and Jeremy. She enjoyed hiking the trails, where they searched for morels and blackberries. At the cabin, Cathy and Meghan loved having their "girl time" while the boys worked on their many hunting-related projects. At home, Cathy enjoyed her garden and flowers. Whether it was watching Joe play football in high school or listening to Jeremy play guitar, she was happy and lived in the moment. She also cherished her time with her sisters and the Fabulous Four, her lifetime group of girlfriends. Cathy spent her life loving her family and friends, which was evident in all that she did. She was very involved in her church and community, where she shared her faith through action. Cathy's nieces and nephews were the light of her life; she was proud of all their accomplishments, big and small.

Cathy is survived by her husband Mike, sons Joe (Meghan) and Jeremy, mother Jean Ripp, siblings Kenneth (Nancy), Keith (Lori), Colleen (Ken), Kevin (Karen), Chris (Chuck), mother-in-law Jean Mulcahy, in-laws Marty (Jane), Jim (Cathy), and Brenda (Jim), many beloved nieces and nephews, extended family, and countless dear friends.

Cathy was preceded in death by her son Jay, father Eugene, and father-in-law Jim.

She was incredibly proud of her husband and sons for all that they did for her. Her family would like to thank the staff on B6/6 at UW Hospital, who became an extension of their family.

A visitation is planned for Saturday, March 11 from 9:00 am-1:00 pm at First Presbyterian Church, 5763 County Road Q, Waunakee, Wisconsin 53597. The funeral will be Sunday, March 12 at 12:30 at First Presbyterian Church, with Pastor Ben Ehrets presiding. A Celebration of Life will follow at Rex's Innkeeper, 301 N Century Ave, Waunakee, WI 53597.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to the family for charitable giving in Cathy's memory.
