Charles F. Eikel III

Charles F. Eikel III passed away on May 27th, 2010 of complications due to ALS ( Lou Gehrig's disease). Chuck was born in New Orleans, LA to Charles Jr. and Eunice (Cunningham) Eikel on January 11th 1940. Chuck graduated from Madison West High School in 1957, earned a degree from UW Platteville, and a Masters from West Chester University near Philadelphia, Pa, where he met and married Claire Girvan in June of 1969. Chuck worked in Public Relations for Cuna Mutual for over 25 years, retiring in 2002. He was a member of the Madison Scouts and had a lifelong passion for Drum and Bugle Corps. He was an accomplished chef, with many published Creole recipes, and also volunteered for many political campaigns. Claire and he travelled extensively throughout the globe, and were season ticket holders for UW Hockey. Chuck is survived by a daughter, Siobhan (Michael K.) McGuire of Madison, his sister, Lucia (Gerry) Higgins of Las Vegas, NV, and three grandchildren; Daniel, Mason and Lucia. He was preceded in death by both parents, his wife, Claire, and his sister, Lynn Davitte. A Memorial Gathering will be held at Cress Funeral Home, 3610 Speedway Road , Madison, Wi 53705, on Sunday, June 6th from 10:30am to 12pm
