Charles C. Lyke Jr.

Charles Lyke was born on April 12, 1943, in Fort Atkinson to the late Charles and Rosetta Lyke. He grew up in Fort Atkinson where he graduated high school in 1961, joining the Fort Atkinson National Guard in 1960, where he served for over 20 years.

He married his wife Clarice on April 3, 1975, and moved to Stoughton shortly afterwards.  There he had and raised his children. Charles worked as a custodian and drove school bus in Stoughton for a total of 25 years. After retirement, Charles enjoyed drinking coffee every morning at the Koffee Kup with his buddies. He also loved spending time with his family, taking them on vacations and traveling adventures. One of things he enjoyed doing the most was taking his grandchildren out for ice cream and malt shakes.  

Charles is survived by daughter Carla (Josh) Hoffman and son Christopher (April) Lyke; grandchildren Noelle and Eli Gomez, Wilson, Miles, Landry, Kelso, and Elliot Lyke; He is also survived by his siblings Barb, Mary, Diane and Bill. He is further survived by nieces, nephews and other relatives and friends.

He is preceded in death by his wife Clarice and his parents. 

A funeral service will be held at 11:00 AM on Wednesday November 27, 2024, at FIRST LUTHERAN CHURCH, 310 E. Washington St. Stoughton with Rev. Bill Lehman presiding. Burial with Military Honors will be at 2:30 PM at Evergreen Cemetery in Fort Atkinson.
