Charles Garry Pottinger

McFarland-Charles Garry Pottinger, 54 passed away Sunday Sept 5, 2010, after a brief illness. He was the first of three boys born to Earl and Frances Pottinger. He started his school years at Badger school then went to McFarland schools and he played the tuba in the marching band at LaFollette High School graduating in the class of 1974.  Growing up every Sunday meant dinner at his grandparent's house with his entire family, including cousins as close as brothers and sisters. His adult days were spent on the family farm, rooting for the Badgers & Packers and with friends at the Last Square and Hooters. He competed in the Badger State Games in sporting clays. Charlie was a History buff and participated in re-enactment with miniatures. He is survived by his mother, Frances Pottinger, brothers, Bradley (Kathi) and Daniel (Linda). He also is survived by his nephew Eric and nieces, Madalyn and Amara, whom he spoiled with awesome noisy gifts. Charlie was preceded in death by his father Earl Henry Pottinger Jr., his paternal grandparents Earl Henry Senior and Theresa Pottinger, his Maternal grandparents, John and Emma Anderson. He will be greatly missed by his family, his god-daughter Tia and her family as well as his many friends at Hooters and the Last Square. Funeral services will be held on Friday, Sept. 10, 2010, at 11 a.m. at the Olson Holzhuter Cress Funeral Home, 5801 Hwy 51, McFarland. Burial will follow in Roselawn Cemetery. Friends of the family may call on Thursday, Sept. 9, 2010, from 4-7 p.m. at the funeral home.
