Charles G. Regez, or Chuck to his family and friends, passed away Tuesday, December 28th, 2010 at Oak Park Place in Middleton, WI after a protracted battle with Alzheimer's.
He was born August 25, 1939, in Monroe, WI to Carl and Jesse Regez. Â He grew up in Whitewater, WI and graduated from Whitewater City High in 1957 as a nine time varsity letter winner in baseball, basketball and football. Â He stayed in Whitewater and continued his athletic success at UW-Whitewater, graduating in 1961 after earning seven letters in baseball and basketball. Â He was inducted into the UW-Whitewater Athletic Hall of Fame in 1987. Â He also later received his degree of Master of Science from his alma mater in 1977.
He taught in the Milton, WI area school system for 44 years and coached five different sports- most notably the boy's basketball team from 1967 to 1987. Â His 1982 team reached the Class B WIAA state tournament.
His life long love of golf, tennis, jogging, cycling and attending countless area sporting events filled his later years. Â
He is survived by his three children and six grandchildren: Jeff and wife Kate; sons Jakob and Samuel and daughter Josephine; Jill and husband Pat and son Charlie; Amy and husband David and sons Samuel and Maxwell. Â He is also survived by his sister Carla Krause and husband Richard.
A celebration of 'Coach's' life and various teams is tentatively scheduled for early March in Milton, WI.
