Charles 'Chuck' Erik Sagen

Charles Erik Chuck' Sagen, age 53, passed away at UW Hospital in Madison on Saturday, May 29, 2010.   He was born in Milwaukee on November 9, 1956, a son of Clifford Kip' and Ruth (Hougan) Sagen.   Chuck graduated from Stoughton High School in 1975, where he wrestled on the varsity team.   He worked on the family farm, the family tavern, Kip's', and helped to raise championship horses.   In the late 1970's he worked in Louisiana as a roustabout on off-shore oil rigs for Schlumberger wire line services.   Then, he came back to work at Kip's Tavern in Pleasant Springs.    On March 7, 1995, he was united in marriage to JoAnn Lien.   Chuck had a great love of music and a big heart.   Family was very important to him, and he was always there when someone needed him.   He is survived by his wife, Jo Ann; and many cousins, aunts, and uncles.   He was preceded in death by his grandparents and parents.   Funeral services will be held on Friday, June 4, 2010 at 11:00 am at Western Koshkonong Lutheran Church, 2633 Church St., Cottage Grove, with the Rev. Thomas Heyn officiating.   Burial will follow at Western Koshkonong Lutheran Cemetery.   The family will greet friends on Thursday, June 3rd from 4:00 to 7:00 pm at the Olson-Holzhuter-Cress Funeral Home in Stoughton, and again on Friday at church from 10:00 am until the time of services.   In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Western Koshkonong Lutheran Church and School.
