Charles C. Vial, age 80, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, March 31, 2010 at St. Mary's Care Center. Â He was born November 1, 1929 the son of Harold C. and Abigail (Candler) Vial in Aurora, IL. Â Charles was united in marriage to Annette Towle on September 27, 1952 in River Forest, IL. Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Charles was a graduate of the University of Illinois, and a member of the Delta Upsilon Fraternity. Â He was employed in Real Estate Management for many years in Illinois. Â Chuck was an active community volunteer with 4-H, Future Farmers of America, the DuPage County Fair, Lyonsville Congregational Church Cemetery, Central DuPage Hospital Board of Governors and the Deicke Center for Visual Rehabilitation Center. Â Chuck was an avid sports fan, cheering on the Cubs in baseball and the Bears in football. Â He enjoyed working in his vegetable and flower gardens. Â In the last few years, Chuck loved long rides in the countryside that always included a protein stopice cream! Â Charles is survived by his wife of 57 years, Annette, and his daughters Peggy (Jim) Johnson, of Duluth, MN, and Susan (Dennis Birke) Vial, grandchildren; Chris and Peter Birke, and Elizabeth and Josiah Johnson. Â He was preceded in death by his parents, two brothers, William and Frederick, and a sister Mary Anda. Â Chuck dearly loved his family, including his many nieces and nephews. Â We will miss him dearly. Â A memorial celebration of life will be held at 1:30pm on Saturday, April 3,2010 at Coventry Village, 7707 Brookline Dr., Madison, WI. Â In lieu of flowers, the family suggests that memeorial contributions may be made to the St. Mary's Foundation, 700 S. Park St., Madison, WI Â 53715. Â The family selected St. Mary's Foundation because of their generous funding so Chuck could receive several years of services at St. Mary's Adult Day Health Center while he lived at home and care during the past 6 months at St. Mary's Care Center. Â
