WAUNAKEE- Charles David Wilson, age 90, of Waunakee, passed away on Monday, March 6, 2017 at his residence. He was born August 30, 1926 in Davenport Iowa, the son of Charles and Helen Wilson. He married Connie Van Pelt in Fond Du Lac, Wisconsin and later on Yvette Thibodeau in Madawaska, Maine.
Charles earned his Bachelor of Science in Engineering from Northwestern University in 1947. He continued on to post graduate studies in chemistry at Lehigh University. Prior to earning his degree, Charles served in the U.S. Navy in 1944-1946. Before becoming a science and math teacher in Madawaska, Maine from 1976-1992, Charles was a president at Rueping Leather Company. Charles was an avid swimmer, runner, and Dixieland jazz fan.
He is survived by his children: Christopher S. Wilson of Golden, Colorado, Wendy Wilson of Bayside, Wisconsin, and John Wilson of Stanford, Connecticut. He was preceded in death by Yvette Thibodeau Wilson.
Charles will be laid to rest at Oakdale Cemetery in Davenport, Iowa.
