Charlotte Hanson

Stoughton - Charlotte T. Hanson, age 87, entered peacefully into eternal rest on Sunday, April 9, 2017 at home. She was born on June 21, 1929 on the Slagg Farm in Edgerton, Wisc., the daughter of Lars and Minnie (Anderson) Staff.

Charlotte graduated from Cambridge High School in 1947. After high school she did restaurant work for Rolf Telefson's Restaurant and the Cambridge Country Club. Achieving in bookkeeping in high school, she took her first real job at Cambridge Lumber Company as their bookkeeper. Then came marriage to Richard Hanson on July 22, 1950. That led to the birth of her two sons Mark and Thomas. As a stay at home mom, she took part time jobs, in tobacco, at Melster Candy Company and making Christmas wreaths. After the boys graduated from high school she went back to work for Aid Association for Lutherans until her retirement in 1988. Charlotte and Richard enjoyed many years of travel and fishing trips up north with friends. Throughout her life the one constant was her love for the church.

She is survived by her husband Richard Hanson; sons, Mark (Ruth), Tom (Roxanne); grandsons, Jason (Carmen), Dan, Peter (Theresa), Andrew (Abbie); great grandchildren, Hannah, Hailey, Emily, and Sam. She is also survived by siblings, Sonja (Richard) Adams, Donald Wennsten, Susan (Mick) Grable, Gail (Terry) Mills, many nieces, nephews, and exchange student Jeremy Francioli.

She was preceded in death by her parents, granddaughter Leanne; and sister Audrey Manning.

The family would like to extend a special thank you to Jenny and Rusty. Without Jenny's loving care, Charlotte would not have been able to stay at home throughout her illness.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Women of West Koshkonong Lutheran Church.

Funeral services will be held at 11:30 a.m. on Saturday, April 15, 2017 at West Koshkonong Lutheran Church, 1911 Koshkonong Rd, Stoughton. Visitation will be held from 9:30 a.m. until the time of service on Saturday. Family and friends are invited to a luncheon immediately following the service.
