Charlotte Jacobson

October 23, 1916 — July 13, 2015

Stoughton- Charlotte L. Jacobson, age 98, passed away on Monday, July 13, 2015 at Skaalen Nursing and Rehabilitation. She was born in Cottage Grove on October 23, 1916, the daughter of Benjamin and Marie Quale. On February 6, 1934 Charlotte married Lester Jacobson. Together they farmed in Wheeler Prairie. She worked as a clerk in the Stoughton Store for 20 years. Charlotte was active in the Stoughton Hospital Auxiliary, Sons of Norway, First Lutheran Church ladies aide and quilters. She enjoyed knitting, crocheting, and baking, providing the community with lefse and donuts. Charlotte is survived by her five children, Lois Dybevik, Lowell (Jeanne), Leroy (Barbara), Linda (Duane) Bratzke, and L'Jean (Larry) Olson; 16 grandchildren; 20 great grandchildren; and brother-in-law, Douglas (Eloise) Jacobson. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; son-in-law, Dale Dybevik; granddaughter, Lore Isdahl; brothers, Bert and Irving; and sister, Dorothy Kangas. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 AM on Friday, July 17, 2015 at First Lutheran Church, 310 E. Washington Street, Stoughton, with Rev. Richard Halom officiating. Burial will follow in Eastside Cemetery. Friends and relatives are invited to a luncheon, following the burial, in the church fellowship hall. Visitation will be held from 10:00 AM until the time of services Friday at church. Memorials may be made to First Lutheran Church quilters, Agrace HospiceCare Inc., or to the charity of the donor's choice. A special thank you to the staffs of Skaalen and Agrace for their care and compassion. Please share your memories.
