Cheryl Fulton

July 24, 1963 — March 15, 2021

Cheryl Ann Fulton (DeForest/Sun Prairie/Stoughton) age 57, traded her boxing gloves for angel wings on March 15, 2021 after a short but hard battle with breast cancer. This was her second fight with breast cancer and though she is no longer here she never let cancer win.  She was born July 24, 1963 in Fond Du Lac, WI, the daughter of Neil and Donna (Frauenkron) Grimes.

She Graduated from Stoughton High School in 1982.  She had always wanted to become a mother and on March 6th, 1986 her dreams came true when she gave birth to her daughter, Heather. She loved being a mom, but when her grandson Tristan was born, she found being a Yaya was beyond amazing, it was pure joy. She would tell anyone and everyone how much she loved being Tristan’s Yaya.

On December 20th, 1991 she married the love of her life Gale Fulton who preceded her in death on April 7th, 2015.

She enjoyed spending the summer weekends with family and friends, participating in civil war reenactments, sewing, crafting, and just enjoying time with her daughter and grandson. Cheryl was an amazing seamstress and could sew anything from 1862 Civil War era ballgowns and day dresses to modern day wedding dresses and everyday day clothing.  If she wasn’t sewing or crafting, you would find her with a good book in her hands, she loved to read and was most often found reading Beverly Lewis’s newest Amish based book.  She enjoyed collecting snow globes, music boxes, and carousel horses. Cheryl was a Member of Starlight Chapter #283 Order of the Eastern Star. Overall, she enjoyed living life to the fullest with her family and friends by her side.

Cheryl is survived by her daughter, Heather (Jeff) Kaufman, Grandson Tristan, her brother Mark (Jean) Grimes, and niece CassyJo LaVanway.  She is further survived by many cousins, other relatives, and friends. She will be deeply missed and remembered by all who knew and loved her. Cheryl was preceded in death by her husband, both of her parents, and her sister Dawn Grimes.

A graveside service will be held at Norway Grove Cemetery 820 River Rd, DeForest, on Saturday May 1st, 2021 at 2pm.
