Cottage Grove -- Chester L. Leach, age 87, passed away on Tuesday, May 11, 2010. Chester was born on July 26, 1922 in Proctor, Oklahoma, to Roy Leach and Nancy Brock. He grew up in Tahlequah, OK. He was proud of his Cherokee Indian Heritage. Chet was a member of the Civilian Conservation Corps and a World War II Veteran. He married Beatrice Musillami on August 27, 1945 in Fayettville, Arkansas and made their home in Madison. Chet was employed by the Ray-O-Vac Corp. for 42 years. He is survived by his wife, Beatrice; son, Richard (Kathy) of Poynette; three grandchildren, Ron (Anne) of Montana, Dan (Renee) of Windsor, Gina (Kelly) Bliefernicht of Poynette; and five great-granddaughters, Brittany, Kelsey and Krystal Leach of Madison, and Cheyanne and Lacey Bliefernicht of Poynette; and one great-great-grandson, Ty Shaw; and two sister-in-laws, Virginia Ducharme and Jean Musillami. He was preceded in death by his brother, Lester; sister, Lucy; two brother-in-laws; Frank Musillami and George Ducharme; and a niece, Mae Sweeney. A Funeral Service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Tuesday, May 18, 2010 at ST. JOSEPH CATHOLIC CHURCH, 1905 W. Beltline Hwy, Madison, with a visitation one hour prior to the service. Burial will be held at Sunset Memory Gardens.
