Christine "Chris" A. Koyen

Christine Ann Koyen (Weisman), passed away on December 25, 2024, following an eight-month battle with cancer. She was born on October 6, 1968 in Columbus, WI. Christine (Chris) attended Madison Area Technical College, where she received her Associate Degree in Accounting. She began a lengthy career in the banking industry while still in high school, working in back-office operations at Valley Bank, where she met her husband Tim Koyen in 1988. Eventually, Chris transitioned into working the front desk at Wright/Clements Vision Care, where she was employed until she passed. Chris was a hard worker and remained dedicated to her job, all while raising two children, and being a small business owner with her husband. Chris had many friends in racing, from all over the country. She was widely known for her friendly smile and ability to remember everyone’s name.

Chris’ favorite things to do always involved family. Whether it was caring for her children TJ and Kaylee, and supporting them in their hobbies, or just traveling to and from the many race tracks she and Tim would visit to either compete or work at, just being with family was her number one favorite pursuit. In more recent years, Chris’ greatest joy was her two young grandchildren. She enjoyed regular visits from them, and she took every opportunity she could to spend time with them. She eagerly awaited the arrival of her daughter’s first child, due in March, but she wasn’t able to hold on long enough to see his birth.

Chris and Tim were married April 21, 1990 and spent over 34 years together. They were inseparable, right up until her last hours. She will be dearly missed as a loving and dedicated wife, mother, grandmother, daughter, and sister. 

Christine is survived by her husband Tim of Sun Prairie, son TJ (Jacque) Koyen of DeForest and their children Fletcher and Frances, daughter Kaylee (Aaron) Polzin of LeCenter, MN, parents James and Kathy Weisman of Sun Prairie, and sister Connie (Brian) Dahlstrom of Middleton. Christine is also survived by many aunts, uncles, cousins, and dear friends. 

Chris was preceded in death by her paternal and maternal grandparents.

Friends and family will gather from 10:00 am- 12:00 pm (noon) on Saturday, January 4, 2025 at Cress Funeral Home SUN PRAIRIE.
