Madison/Sun City West, AZ- Christine L. (Storck) Snyder, age 85, passed away peacefully, surrounded by her family on Saturday, August 20, 2011 at St. Mary's Hospital, Madison . She was born on November 26, 1925 in Madison the daughter of Lloyd & Louella (Schmidt) Kravik. Christine was a longtime resident of Madison graduating from East High School in 1943 and attended the University of Wisconsin. She was united in marriage with Orville C. Storck on June 20, 1947 and they enjoyed 43 years together until his death in 1990. Together they raised five children. Christine loved Madison with everything it had to offer and considered it a great place to raise their family. On weekends, holidays and summers, the family enjoyed spending time on her father's "hobby farm" near Cambridge. She enjoyed baking, cooking, reading, volunteering and traveling. Some of the trips she especially enjoyed were whitewater rafting on the Colorado River, riding camels in Morocco , cruises to Alaska and Norway and traveling throughout Europe . In 1993 Christine married James Robert Snyder in Sun City West and they celebrated every day of their 15 years together. She was a member of Lord of Life Lutheran Church, Sun City West, AZ and Zion Lutheran Church , Madison . Christine served as a Stephen Minister in Sun City West assisting individuals in need. She also volunteered at church, the hospital gift shop and Hospice. She will be missed by her beloved family: children Robert (Colleen) Storck, Madison, Connie (Ron) Inda, Madison, Jeanne (Mike) Kimble, Coon Rapids, MN, Dianne (Richard) Arneson, Rochester, MN and Richard Storck, Madison; her grandchildren Jim & Katie Jo Storck, Dan & Christopher Inda, Allison (Brad Klemm) Kimble, Jared & Brett Kimble and Drew & Taylor Arneson; other relatives and many dear friends in Madison and Arizona. Christine was preceded in death by her parents, first husband, Orville Storck, second husband Robert Snyder, and nephew Jim Storck. A Memorial Service will be held on Saturday, September 3, 2011 at 3:00 p.m. at Zion Lutheran Church , 2165 Linden Ave. Madison, Rev. Patrick Siegler officiating. A time of gathering will be held at the church on Saturday from 2:00 until 3:00 pm. A light repast will follow at the church. The family would like to give a special thank you to the staff at St. Mary's Hospital 5SW (Medical/Oncology), for their compassion and care. The family could not be more appreciative.
