Clarence Dahmen

February 26, 1934 — August 21, 2020

Clarence C. Dahmen, age 86, passed away at home on August 21st, 2020.  He was born on February 26, 1934 in Middleton, WI, the son of Martin and Josephine (Maly) Dahmen.  He graduated from Middleton High School in 1952.  He served in the US Navy from 1955 - 1957.  He married Doris Kopp on November 22, 1956 in Waunakee, WI.  He was a member of Saint John the Baptist Catholic Church in Waunakee, WI. Clarence started as an agent for Standard Oil in Waunakee, WI.  While living in Waunakee he was a volunteer member of the Waunakee Fire Department.  He then moved to the Madison Bulk plant with Standard Oil.  Clarence then bought the Standard Oil Station in Sun Prairie, WI from 1967 until 1981.  Clarence then went into business with his son, Kevin Dahmen, at Dahmen Station and Towing from 1983 - 1991.  During his retirement years, he worked part time with Gunderson Funeral Home, Badger Bus, and Kobussen Bus.

He was an avid card player and belonged to many card clubs.  He enjoyed watching UW football/basketball sports along with the Green Bay Packers.  He also enjoyed being able to attend all of his grandchildren's events.  He was very proud of his family!  Everyone loved his bear hugs.

Clarence is survived by his wife of 64 years, Doris; two sons, Mike (Kathy), Kevin (Mags) and three daughters, Darlene (Larry Cato), Sheri (Doug Wichern) and Lisa (Roger Fillion); and 9 beautiful grandkids, Clayton Buss, Melissa Dahmen, Jason Dahmen, Seth Dahmen, Kyle Dahmen, Corey Dahmen, Cody Fillion, Collin Van Ryen, Chase Van Ryen; and 5 wonderful great grandkids, Lili Buss, Howie Buss, Daphne Buss, Hailey Dahmen and Greyson Dahmen with one little girl on the way.  He was survived by his sister and brother in-laws, Mary Kopp, Larry and Kathy Thorton, Shirley Kopp, Carol Dahmen.   Also survived by many nieces, nephews and friends.  He was preceded in death by his parents; siblings, Gilbert and Mary Ann Dahmen, Ray and Julie Dahmen, and Gerald Dahmen; brother and sister in-laws Joella and Carl Endres, Don and Catherine Kopp, Joe and Marcy Kopp, and Bob Kopp.

Funeral services will be held on Friday Aug 28 2020 at 11:00 a.m. at St John’s Catholic Church, 209 South St Waunakee. Msgr James Gunn will officiate. Friends may call at the church on Friday from 9:00 a.m. until the time of services.
