Slack, Clarence E.
Pekin, IL / Stoughton, WI- Clarence Everett Slack passed away, peacefully, on October 29, 2011. He was born in Jasper County, Illinois on January 15, 1910, the son of Henry and Mabel (Wiles) Slack. He had three siblings, Clarene, Mary and Roy.
Clarence married Lois Mabel Pierson on November 11, 1933. They were married for72 years. They had four sons, Jerald (Sherill), James (Pat), Robert (Renee) and Steven (Ellen). He is survived by 12 grandchildren, Ann, Sara, John, Jay, Alee, Kelly, Jacqueline, Rachel, Laurel, Brand, Beth and Randy; and 23 great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his wife, parents, siblings, one daughter-in-law, one grandson, and one great grandson.
Clarence spent most of his life in Pekin, Illinois. He moved to Skaalen Nursing and Rehabilitation Center approximately six ears ago. He was a calm, gentle and peaceful man who loved his family and provided for them well. He is now at rest with his wife and his God.
Services will be held at Skaalen Chapel, 400 N. Morris St., Stoughton, Wisconsin on Saturday, November 5, 2011 at 11:00 am, with the Rev. James Koza officiating. There will be a one hour visitation prior to the service. Final burial rights will take place at Manlius Cemetery in Manlius, Illinois approximately two hours after the service. Memorials may be made to the Skaalen Chapel, 400 N. Morris St., Stoughton, WI 53589. The staff at Skaalen was wonderful to Dad in the last years of his life, thank you all so very much. A special thank you to Agrace Hospice for their help in the last few days.
