Madison -- Clyde ""Toppy"" Selix, age 86, died on Tuesday, April 7, 2009 at Attic Angels in Madison. Clyde was born on May 20, 1922 to Clyde and Buelah Selix in Oak Park, Illinois. He served in the U.S. Army, 983 Field Artilary, in the Phillipines during WWII. Clyde graduated from the University of Illinois. On June 26, 1948, Clyde was united in marriage to Lois Birkeland. Clyde was the founder of American Printing, and later EconoPrint. He was a member at Blackhawk Country Club, the Optimist Club, and a member of Covenant Presbyterian Church where he was once an Elder. Clyde enjoyed grouse hunting, tennis, and fishing. Clyde is survived by his wife of 61 years, Lois; his two sons, John (Nancy Bonniwell) Selix, Jay Selix; two granddaughters, Claire and Charlotte Selix; a cousin, Joan (Jack) Ruyak, and their children, Cindy and Cheryl; and many dear friends. He was preceded in death by his parents. A Celebration of Life is scheduled for 1:30 p.m. on Saturday, April 18, 2009 at COVENANT PRESBYTERIAN CHURCH, 326 Segoe Road, Madison with Rev. William King and Rev. Stephen Minnema officiating. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Parkinson's Disease Research, c/o UW Foundation, PO Box 8860, Madison, WI 53708.
